SEGA ON XBOX
March 29, 2001
At the Tokyo Game Show, Microsoft announced that Sega is
currently working on 11 games for the Xbox. The four games
that were announced at the show are:
- Gun Valkyrie
- Jet Set Radio Future
- Panzer Dragoon
- Sega GT 2
Sega is expected to deliver several exclusives to Microsoft's
upcoming system. Microsoft believes the long-term agreement
with Sega will be seen as good news in terms of Japanese support
for Xbox, about which many people have thus far been concerned.
If Microsoft wanted to prove they have strong Japanese developer
support, this is certainly a good place to start.
"We believe that Microsoft will be very successful with Xbox,
which is why we have such a close, strategic relationship
with them," said Peter Moore, president and COO, Sega of America.
"Our world-renowned development studios have been very impressed
with the Xbox hardware, and they are excited to bring new
gaming experiences to consumers by utilizing the platform's
power and network capabilities. We share Microsoft's commitment
to broadband online gaming and will work with it to deliver
the best content possible to gamers."
