MICROSOFT TO SPEND BIG
July 27, 2000
Microsoft is significantly larger than Nintendo,
Sega, and Sony combined. As a result, we all knew that money
would play a big factor in its X-Box, much like what happened
with the PSX when Sony was the largest company in the gaming
world.
Microsoft has strengthened that belief by stating
that it will spend half a billion dollars to market the launch
of the X-Box, which will be the biggest launch in the company's
history. This marketing budget would be spread out over the
first 18 months and is expected to pave the way to strong
footing for Microsoft in the console market.
X-Box's marketing budget will be backed by powerful
hardware and impressive third party support totalling over
200 developers thus far.
