KONAMI SUPPORTS XBOX
September 21, 2000
Despite what some would've had you believe,
Microsoft doesn't need to purchase Konami in order to get
support from the company. In fact, Konami has promised dedicated
support of the Xbox to the tune of more than 10 games per
year, and it has more than enough development kits to get
the job done.
Crash Bandicoot will be making its way to the
Xbox. Looks like Sony's going to need to find itself a new
mascot (more).
Other titles included in the Universal Studios deal are The
Thing (more)
and Jurassic Park X.
Perhaps the biggest reason to get a PS2 so far
may have been minimized. Konami also announced that it is
developing Metal Gear Solid X. It is unknown whether this
will be based on MGS or MGS2 at this time, though it's a safe
bet that it's not just a port.
