Alge is the offensive leader (aside from Dunn, who they'll send packing next) for the Falcons, this makes as much sense as the Colts just up and cutting Harrison for cap space. When you have an offensive leader that has rallied your team several times in the past, and pretty much was THE coach for Atlanta last season, why would you do something like that?

^^Blame that bitch Gene Upshaw. He's the one that allowed basically unrestricted cuts to vets occur when no other sport allows it.
Not true at all. Look at baseball, where the Union actually represents player interests instead of league interests. You don't see players like Andruw Jones cut from Atlanta. They have to trade or wait until the contracts expire. Look at the NBA: it got so bad they finally had to bring in the Allan Houston rule to attempt to save the Knicks. Every other major sport protects veterans and guarantees the contracts to an extent. The NFL is garbage concerning player contracts. You can assume that if a 28 year old in the NFL signs a 5 year deal, he won't finish it.CSM is still single! wrote:^Welcome to the world of professional sports (and increasingly, college sports, too). -CSM
