HOLY **** I FORGOT! It's time for the 2nd Annual VGF NFL Challenge!

First off: Last Year's Results with @Wu-Tang Panfan as our Champion!

How to Play:
1. Pick your "Home" team. aka The team you cheer for most.
2. Check your team's Season Schedule
3. Take a guess (educated or otherwise) as to what your team's overall record will be. (Hint: There will always be a total of 16 games.)
4. Take a guess (educated or otherwise) as to what your team's division record will be. (Hint: There will always be a total of 6 games.)
5. Game-by-Game pick whether your team will win or lose each game. (These don't HAVE to match the record you picked, but it's usually easier if it does.)
6. Post it all here, or message them to me, and I will add them into a spreadsheet and update it weekly for all to see.
7. $20 Amazon Gift Card to Winner!

Here is this year's spreadsheet.
Those who played last year will notice some slight (and hopefully better) changes.
The spreadsheet will "evolve" as I add players, and I will post the link after every week's games are over.

ANY QUESTIONS??
Good.

LET'S GO, MUTHA EFFAS!

^If you'd like to give the prize feel free. I will assume it is my responsibly as Commissioner (LOL) until someone else wants to take it.

I had them 13-3, winning at Lambow, but I couldn't feel justified in picking them to win there.

You guys are absolutely insane with your Lions predictions, which you'll see why soon.

The thread has been stickied. I'll be taking part, of course.

i'm well aware of my insanity but march does have a point.

Lions have a tough schedule overall, particularly overall. Chargers, Broncos, Seahawks, Cardinals, Chiefs, and Packers should be solid teams. It's not hard to see Vikings, Eagles, Rams and Saints being better than they were last year. If you have them losing to those good teams and splitting against the unproven teams that's like a 7-9 season. Only games I'd see the Lions heavily favored going into the season are Raiders (who will be vastly improved from last season but I think they still need another rebuild year), Bears (who some think will be improved but that team was so bad last year that I can't buy it yet) and 49ers (who might not be able to field a team by week 16 at the rate they've been losing players). If they drop more than two of the first few games they might have a hard time catching up to the competition and will have little margin for error late in the season.

There are some major question marks for the Lions. The offense was underwhelming last year. They're gonna be heavily reliant on a rookie running back. The offensive line is super young, has little chemistry, and is unproven. They lost their top 3 defensive tackles from last year. They don't have a proven 3rd option to pass to after Calvin and Tate.

But there's also reason for hope, though. The offensive system should be smoother in year 2. Abdullah has been wowing people at camp and should be able to replace the inconsistent Reggie Bush (already has better hands than Reggie and hits the hole harder. my biggest problem with Bush was that he couldn't hit the f***ing hole). Even if the line underperforms, it's hard to see them being much worse than last year's garbage group. Suh leaving was huge but he was replaced by another All-Pro (Ngata) and people are vastly overrating Fairley's contributions to the team. I think a healthy Ebron can become a reliable 3rd option.

Plus March is a much more pessimistic Lions fan than I am so
and that's the waaaaaaaaaay the news goes

all right, the LOINS

Week 1: @ Chargers LOSS 0-1 (0-0)
Week 2: @ Vikings LOSS 0-2 (0-1)
Week 3: Broncos LOSS 0-3 (0-1)
Week 4: @Seahawks LOSS 0-4 (0-1)
Week 5: Cardinals WIN 1-4 (0-1)
Week 6: Bears WIN 2-4 (1-1)
Week 7: Vikings WIN 3-4 (2-1)
Week 8: @Chiefs (London) WIN 4-4 (2-1)
Week 9: BYE
Week 10: @Packers LOSS 4-5 (2-2)
Week 11: Raiders WIN 5-5 (2-2)
Week 12: Eagles WIN 6-5 (2-2)
Week 13: Packers WIN 7-5 (3-2)
Week 14: @Rams LOSS 7-6 (3-2)
Week 15: @Saints LOSS 7-7 (3-2)
Week 16: 49ers WIN 8-7 (3-2)
Week 17: @Bears LOSS 8-8 (3-3)

Basically, a worst case scenario that is likely. haha. I still don't believe in these guys.

EDIT: And I can easily see them losing home games to the Cardinals and Packers, which would be 6-10.

Team: New York Jets

Week 1: Browns - WIN
Week 2: at Colts - LOSS
Week 3: Eagles - WIN
Week 4: at Dolphins - LOSS
Week 5: BYE
Week 6: Redskins - WIN
Week 7: at Patriots - LOSS
Week 8: at Raiders - WIN
Week 9: Jaguars - WIN
Week 10: Bills - WIN
Week 11: at Texans - LOSS
Week 12: Dolphins - LOSS
Week 13: at Giants - LOSS
Week 14: Titans - WIN
Week 15: at Cowboys - LOSS
Week 16: Patriots - WIN
Week 17: at Bills - LOSS

Overall: 8-8
Division: 2-4

Truthfully I do think we have an outside chance to contend for a playoff spot (despite our QB problems, top to bottom we've shored up a lot of our weaknesses from last season and I hope that our defense can buoy our offense as it did in '09 and '10). We shall see.

I'm gonna do a pick-em for the Broncos, since I don't want to oversaturate this thread with Lions content

^^ I think Fitz would've ended up with the QB spot anyway, though yeah he's hardly a top choice. I think Jets could contend for the AFC East with Patriots seemingly weaker than last year (especially with Brady gone a few weeks). I think Dolphins should take the division but the Jets don't have a terrible schedule and could even steal some of those games you picked them to lose. Wouldn't be the craziest thing in the world for them to nab a wild card spot

i mean f*** the jets
and that's the waaaaaaaaaay the news goes
