Do you and your family/friends do Christmas lunch or dinner? Or both? Or even include breakfast?

What is your typical Christmas food?

We have immediate family breakfast together, then out to other family/friends for lunch and it's nothing but pick at some salad for dinner. :p

Breakfast is usually eggs, bacon, mushrooms, fried tomato, croissants, fruit , juice, tea/coffee and ESSDEE makes magic beans. Lunch is usually a roast turkey with all the trimmings and salads, and desserts!! And dinner, as already indicated, is pick at some salad and hope you don't go into a food coma. :p :D

We eat dinner around noon on holidays, so I guess it's more like a big lunch. There's usually turkey and ham as the entrées, along with stuffing, casseroles, potatoes, rolls, and a few other things. Dessert typically features gelatin, pumpkin pie, and pink stuff divinity.

Well, there's usually a big smoked salmon (among other things) at the Christmas Eve family get-together. Then we get a stollen for Christmas morning breakfast. Ham dinner. Day-after-christmas party features beer brats and a chili dump.

It's apparently lucky to eat pickled herring on New Years, for reasons I'm not familiar with (not that I'm complaining--------pickled herring is good) (one might in fact call any opportunity to eat pickled herring an instance of inherent good fortune-------------correlation v. causation).

Dinner for us! Lots of hors d'oeuvres which means I fill up on cheese and cured meats (ha) and there's basically always lasagna. Of course, that's an appetizer so there's other meats and seafood too.

...did I mention that Squeege's family is Italian
