I misread this as Godzilla.

Not gonna lie, pretty disappointed.
Oh, Scotty, don't you see?

How can Godzilla return, when He never really left us at all?

Listened to the album a bit more. I think right now I'd rank it like so:

Demon Days = Plastic Beach > Gorillaz = Humanz > The Fall

Not their best, but still a good album overall.

Man, that's one more Gorillaz album than I thought existed.

EDIT: That explains it. The Fall went so far under my radar, I never even heard about it.

Wow. I like 'Demon Days' lots, but I'd put it under 'Gorillaz'. Guess I'm kind of tin-eared.

Another album? Yes please.
Gorillaz‘s Jamie Hewlett has confirmed that the band will release another new record next year.

The Damon Albarn-led band released their fifth album ‘Humanz’ in April, their first record in six years. They then dropped a bonus track called ‘Garage Palace’ in October.

Following suggestions that they would release a second new LP shortly, visual artist Hewlett has now stated that that record will be released in 2018.

“We’re working on another Gorilllaz album that we’re going to be releasing next year,” he said in a new interview.

“So we’re going straight into the album with no break. Usually we have a good five-year break between each album but we decided: ‘You know what? Let’s keep going’ because there’s ideas for a few more albums so we’re going to go straight into that. That’s will be all of next year and probably the year beyond that.”

“By the end of 2019, we’re probably gonna say, ‘Let’s have a little break’. Or we’re gonna say, ‘Let’s keep going’,” Hewlett added.

“I’m inventing a new [visual] style for the next album, so that in itself is exciting for me, because you say, ‘Alright, I’ve done that. How do I do it next time and how do I make it different?”.

It wouldn’t be the first time Gorillaz have released two albums in quick succession. They released fourth LP ‘The Fall’ less than a year after its predecessor ‘Plastic Beach’.

^ When I watched the video the first time I thought "damn, they really changed up Murdoc's design for this one." But nope, it really is Ace from the **** Gangreen Gang.

Got the album today. It's a lot like The Fall, and I'd rate it about the same compared to other Gorillaz albums. It has a few decent songs, but you're not missing too much if you skip it. I liked "Kansas" and "Fire Flies" the best.

Still haven't listened to Humanz. I suck.

Is it fun? Is there a new 'Rock the House'? That'd be pretty sick, man. 'Rock the House' is good.

This new album is rather forgettable. It sounds okay, but nothing lingers in my head. Humanz was a bit of a bloated mess but I really liked it despite (maybe even because of) that. And there were HUGE highlights. This just kind of comes and goes.

Hmmmmm. Worrying. And this 'Humility' is a single. One of their best foots forward off the next album. It's at about the level of one of the less impressive tracks on Gorillaz or Demon Days. Kind of thing you'd skip past to get to 'Latin Simone' or 'Dare' for the drive home after a crummy shift (balm in Gilead, yeah?). I am skeptical.
