"Alien" Die Antwoord ft. The Black Goat
Ooh! What did you think?

I really like "Mount Ninji" as a whole. It might not be quite the kick in the pants that "Tension" was (it'll be a cold day in heck before someone makes another 'Hey Sexy!' or 'Fatty Boom Boom'), but I call it rock-solid.
Really enjoyable! Video clip was also rockin', but yeah, the music and lyrics were satisfying in the singular Die Antwoord way. A+ earworm.

Deafheaven - Night People

was just thinking how it's been a while since i've listened to some metal, so this album came out at just the right time since deafheven is really what i look for with heavier music. even though this song isn't exactly metal (and deafheaven being metal in general is heavily debated) i'm really digging the vibes here. maybe the band's best work yet.

HYO - Sober

Ugh, I love Hyoyeon's voice so much I could cry. She's considered one of the lesser vocalists in Girls' Generation, so she doesn't get that many lines. Because of that, I've wanted solo material from her for years. And now that we're finally getting some, it's glorious.

Die Antwoord--------"Cookie Thumper!"

...why do CDs continue to come with warning labels?

Are there any actual children that buy CDs?

I mean, 99.9999% of CD sales must be to people who own sound systems and/or cars with CD players, yeah? People who must needs be adults. So why are there still warning labels? Is anybody actually worried about little River buying a copy of 'Donker Mag'? It don't even have a picture of the Teen Titans on it, for cliff's sake.

'In America'------------The Charlie Daniels Band

I'm so goddamn sick of modern country I could puke coat-hangers. It's weak. Sorry state of affairs when Trace Adkins is the closest you get to the real thing.

They play Florida-Georgia Line over the PA at my work, you know. I was gobsmacked when I heard 'Ride With Me' was considered a country song. Lady Gaga has done more authentic-sounding country songs, for heavens sakes. It's infuriating.

Eluvium - Radio Ballet

I've had a rough few weeks. My anxiety is at the point where I've started having panic attacks, which I've never had before recently. I can't help but get constantly wrapped up in the constant stream of bad news and bulls*** in the world, even in the places I go to seek release. I'm having a harder time putting myself out there for job opportunities because I'm getting into my own head trying to convince myself it's no use.

I've had good moments, and even good days in this timeframe, largely when I can find something to completely distract myself from the bulls***. I'm eating better, going outside more, checking in on friends more, pushing myself to write more even if it's not for financial gain. But those feelings of accomplishment or joy are fleeting, and then I get wrapped up in anger, disappointment, sadness, depression once again.

I got wrapped up in bulls*** and anger again tonight. I was on the verge of another panic attack. I had to stop what I was doing, turn on a record, and do some deep breathing.

That record I turned on was Eluvium's 2007 ambient masterpiece Copia. It's been a favorite album of mine to listen to while unwinding since I was in high school. There are multiple songs that stand out to me, but few things bring me peace like when I listen to "Radio Ballet." It's such a beautiful track, one that has brought me countless times a sense of calm that I didn't know I could achieve.

Big Boi (feat. Gucci Mane) - Shine Blockas

Saw some ****ing SUCKER on Twitter claim tonight that OutKast would've been better if it was just Andre 3000 and I was ****ing disgusted.

The reason that duo is the greatest rap duo of all time and have four ****ing classics to their name is because Andre 3000 and Big Boi were perfect. Mix Andre's weirdness with Big Boi's more grounded, traditional style and you've got a ****ing stew goin

Big Boi doesn't get enough credit as a rapper. I get it. Three Stacks was always the star of the show, but have you listened to Big Boi rap? He's damn near on the same level. He's phenomenal. If Andre's a top 5, top 10 rapper. Big Boi's honestly in my top 20.

^ Indeed.

Kanye West - Blood on the Leaves

I've decided Yeezus is my favorite Kanye album. Not his best album, mind you - I'd still give that to MBDTF - but it kind of goes with the time of my life it came out.

^ I don't think any Kanye album could ever supplant Late Registration for me, but I've always had a deep appreciation for Yeezus. Kanye really had something going on that album. It's so raw and visceral and interesting. I like Life of Pablo fine and some aspects of Ye are okay too, but Yeezus is Kanye's last great album in my eyes.
