Hello

Post by Lolothesamurai » Tue Jun 09, 2015 3:12 pm

Hey everyone!

My name is Brian. I'm mostly an RPG game fan. However I've recently got into them, before I only played Pokemon as an RPG. At the moment, I'm playing Final Fantasy VII and Ni No Kuni.

My favourite platformer game is Crash Bandicoot 1.

I'm also a pretty big sports fan! Football (soccer) and Basketball are my 2 sports.

Pleased to join!

Other than the obvious Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy, what are some titles on the SNES that you could recommend?

Oh and one more thing in the introduction. I much prefer to buy games than play them on emulators. Not a fan of pirating games.

Chrono Trigger and FFVI are my favorites. :ouch:

Super Mario RPG
is probably my third favorite. You must play it if you haven't already. Lufia and Lufia II are good. The sequel is better IMO and has some interesting mechanics. Shadowrun is a pretty great action RPG. EarthBound, of course. I thought Secret of Mana was decent, but I've heard it's better to play with a friend. Secret of Evermore is alright too.

Never heard of Lufia. Will look into it.

Thanks!

There's also Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, and Terranigma (although Terranigma was never officially released in the US) if you want to give those a try. Terranigma is my favorite out of the three.

Also welcome. [plain] :) [/plain]

Welcome, noble samurai to VGF!

I'm afraid that there's not much that I know about RPGs so you'll have to take everyone else's advice. Good luck on that.

There is Tales of Phantasia on the SNES, as well.

Welcome to the forums! I love RPGs, particularly JRPGs.

I like RPGs or at least I still buy them anyway. Only one I've played recently is Final Fantasy IV PS1 remake on PSN. The original remains one of my favorite games.

Just about anything from Square was both an RPG and worth playing. To a lesser extent, Enix. Inindo: Way of the Ninja was Koei's entry into the genre, a twist on its Nobunaga's Ambition franchise.
I laugh in the face of danger, then I hide until it goes away.

What about any newer RPG's? Any for the 3DS maybe?

I know they've kinda died down but I'm sure there are some still around. As I already said, Ni No Kuni is one of them.

For 3DS RPGs I currently own Tales of the Abyss and Bravely Default. Both games are great.

I've heard a lot of good things about Bravely Default. Been meaning to play it myself.

I still need to finish Bravely Default. It's a great game. It's where my name comes from. I'll second Tales of the Abyss.

Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride and Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation are good too. They're DS games but playable on the 3DS.

Hello and welcome to our special blend of madness!!! *gives you marshmallows* Although I enjoy platformers and rpgs, I don't have as much time as I would like to play games whilst playing the real game of Life!! I have already seen you in Ninty and hope to see you in Misc a lot over the coming decades!! ;) :D

Hello and welcome to VGF.

Seventh Saga was a decent RPG for SNES if anyone's asking. Star Ocean was as well.
