It hasn't started, but I booted up the game just to make sure I could play it. Couldn't.

Start the round without me...things are really ramping up at Seminary and I can’t commit to things that aren’t Seminary right now

I'll play the 'Regular Show' game. If I zee that with aplomb, I'll take on 'Epic Mickey' (assuming my old save still exists---------don't know but I want to play them first ten hours all over again).

Guess I'll just swap Deus Ex out for Dishonored since it's the most similar game on my list and Scotty doesn't seem to be around.

Round ends 10/9.

Sorry. Yeah that's fine. I just pick a random game then on my list if ML isn't playing?

^I'll pick for you, since I couldn't pick for ML.

Have you played 'LA Noire' at all yet? Huge love-letter to them old two-fisted detective flicks. I liked it lots, even if it sometimes got kind of seamy and yucky. I'll pick something else for you if that don't appeal.

I've only ever played the first ten minutes. I'm down to tackle the rest.

Ooh. Hope you're down for some acerbic narration and minor-key trumpet noodling, homey. Earmarks of the genre, and 'LA Noire' is nothing if not the genre.

Man, maybe it's just that I'm only two levels in, but I don't remember Dishonored being this easy. Even ignoring the famously silly peek, the enemies are practically blind, have an extremely forgiving window before it count as an alert even when they do see you, and there aren't even that many of them. And this is on what's supposedly very hard.

I mean, I'm still enjoying it, but it's weird breezing through a stealth game like this after how much Shadow Tactics and no-powers Dishonored 2 beat me up.

^I mean, it's possible the first one of 'Dishonoured' is easier (particularly in the early levels). Sequels are often where a series ramps up the difficulty. Alternately, it might just be that you got good at outwitting the sequel, and so you're now preternaturally adept at hoodwinking the original even at its hardest.

Presumably someone who mained Axton and was awesome at it in 'Borderlands 2' would do pretty goldurn great as Roland in 'Borderlands', even if he'd never touched it before.

It's definitely partly that - it's kind of inevitable that it'd feel like a superpower cheatcode after running the sequel without any abilities, but the AI is also just really dumb. But I kind of wanted to get through this quickly anyway since there's so much else I need to play, and the lack of difficulty isn't really affecting my enjoyment, so it's not a huge deal.

I started playing L.A. Noire. I literally burst out laughing when the tutorial said "Incidental music plays when you enter a crime scene."

I also finally experienced what it truly means when you intend to say one thing but your character inexplicably goes overboard. Like I thought "Doubt" would just be a mild, middle-of-the-line response like "Oh really Mrs. Rodriguez. Are you ABSOLUTELY SURE you haven't seen your husband? Because two fresh plates in the kitchen say otherwise" and not "WE'RE GONNA TAKE YOUR BABY IN JAIL IF YOU DON'T TALK RIGHT NOW."

Yeah. I sure miss being able to see one's dialogue options in full rather than just battin blind.

'Secret of Monkey Island' was a long, long time ago.

I need to get a new Gamecube memory card because Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 is a jerk and corrupted the really good one I had, probably because it's not a REAL gamecube memory card or some dumb nonsense like that. I only realized this now because I haven't touched a Gamecube game in a while now.

It's supposed to come in on Friday, but if this is the first month I fail, I'm blaming that game and snapping it in two.

^Can you open the memory card up? Like, to change the battery?

Changin the battery can fix a busted memory card. I've had to do that before.

Haha, if only. I meant new games. Those 50 PS2/3/4 games in my backlog haven't gone anywhere.

^^ I'm not sure about the battery being the issue, but I'm going to try fixing it. I'm just getting a new one so I don't have to rush everything.

All done. I think it being so ridiculously easy ends up working sort of in its favor - the last level took 10 minutes, which would ordinarily be anticlimactic, but breezing through the big bad fortress like that does sell the whole magic ninja thing pretty well.
