It's much more bullet hell than Binding of Isaac, but I'd say you don't need as much luck and more about positioning
Honestly you could go thru issac all the way to ???/The Lamb with very few items if you know the attack patterns of the enemies and the like. Luck definitely plays a factor but your skill makes all the difference in the world.
Source: Beaten all bosses on all characters in normal mode, and most of the hard mode ones as well outside of a few Hush and Mega Satan runs.

Working on Darkest Dungeon and debating which of the other games I got from GoG's summer sale to start. DD was initially very fun, but I'm getting a "our numbers are bigger now, so you lose" feel from the level 3+ missions. Hopefully I'm just doing something wrong.
I was also amazed and disappointed to discover that the laptop I'm stuck with until August is somehow unable to run Oxenfree above 20 FPS even at minimum settings 1024x768.

Got This War of Mine during the Steam sale, which somewhat doesn't suck for a change, aside from the whole you need to approve every 7 cent trade on an app debacle. Really enjoying the game, though I'm not sure if I'll end up being dragged down by all the whining about not wanting to kill and steal from people who keep trying to kill and steal from me.
Competition is a good thing. It's a chance to crush people.

I gave up on This War of Mine. I liked what I saw, until about mid-game, where they kept throwing me into a combat system I didn't want to deal with.
Moved on to 6-in-1 Farming Bundle, a hidden gem in the Steam sale at 59 cents if you're into that sort of game.

Exactly my experience with it. I couldn't even get the combat to work, so any time it came up was just an immediate death.
Had bad experiences with Darkest Dungeon, which I couldn't find any more depth in, and Locomotion, which aged incredibly poorly since my childhood. Really liked Human Resource Machine, Refunct, and Twilight Struggle, though.
Now I'm playing a real hit called "staring paralyzed at what I got from Steam and GoG." Probably gonna have to put it to RNG.

Finally beat FTL after three years and 143 failed attempts. Victory laps ensued.
Started up Civ III again and I'm hoping it'll last me for these last few days of being stuck on my laptop. Wouldn't be surprised if this it's my 144th game of this as well, but it's still fun if you keep the difficulty low enough that AI defenders don't take 30 units to kill.
