Still waiting for that release, I very much want to see the finished Star Fox 2.
I muttered 'light as a board, stiff as a feather' for 2 days straight and now I've ascended, ;aughing at olympus and zeus is crying

Allegedly, they are going to bring the NES one back next summer. I find it hard to get excited about this after how they handled that one. They claim they had no idea it would be that successful, but the easy solution to that is not to kill it after 6 months when nobody can find one.
Competition is a good thing. It's a chance to crush people.

So they will bring the NES mini back for another 5 minutes?

AFAIK they literally had only booked a certain amount of factory time. So there was going to be no more, one way or another.Shane wrote: ↑Tue Sep 12, 2017 5:44 pmAllegedly, they are going to bring the NES one back next summer. Why is it drug addicts and computer afficionados are both called users?

Well, I sent Mr. UN to Best Buy this morning. They're handing out tickets to people in line based on their availability. Wish us luck.

Why go through the hassle of getting one of these when you could just get a Retopie. Retropie can emulate any snes game, plus nes, Genesis, pcengine, PS1, GB, GBC, GBA, and so much more. You can put whatever game you want on it. You can also use whatever controller you feel most comfortable with, as long as it has enough buttons.

^A lot of people would rather buy an official product rather than a bootleg.

It's not a bootleg, it doesn't rip off anything. Retropie actually came out before nes classic. There's so much more more you can do with it too. Snes classic has no advantages over the Retropie.

It's an officially licensed product. It has the only real and finished release of Star Fox 2 ever. It looks like a tiny SNES. And the general public has no idea what a Retropie is.

Which would no longer be a real release.

Re: SNES Classic Announced (not that you'll ever own one)
yeah you gotta understand that the nes/snes classics have a lot of novelty in the fact that they're specifically curated by nintendo and designed to resemble their home systems, they're as much a collector's item as they are a console
i'm sure the retropie is the more practical device but if i'm only concerned about emulating stuff then i'd rather just do that from my pc

It's the full game and not just a hackneyed unfinished ROM.

Re: SNES Classic Announced (not that you'll ever own one)
It is true that you can just use Retropie. You could also just homebrew a Wii. I think the average consumer doesn't know about that or does not want to go through the hassle of setting one up, even if it is small. It's why there's a market for pre-built computers. Plus, as inane as brand loyalty can seem, it is a hell of a drug. I want one when I can just emulate everything on my PC.
It is what it is.

Only $200 on Amazon.
Hmm, I think I've decided I don't need one.

Re: SNES Classic Announced (not that you'll ever own one)
One of my coworkers bumbled into one at Target as well. Seemed like they'd sold out by the time I took a look about 7 hours later, but the fact it was possible to just by one at all lends at least a shred of credibility to Nintendo's claims.
Not going to be any more than a shred unless they're back in stock very quickly, though.
