That makes sense actually. For such a lighthearted series a lot of us longtime fans are pretty jaded about it.

To make that scene even more painful, here's the song that played in the background of it, sung by Rem's voice actress:pixelated_penguin wrote: ↑Thu Dec 21, 2017 6:15 amJust finished watching Re:Zero. It's a pretty good anime and I'm surprised it's not continuing. Now I get why "I love Emilia" is a meme, that scene was painful. (also why is Felix so hot jfc >_>)

Really? Honestly, I think Gen VII was the best one yet, and I know a lot of people that agree.DarkZero wrote: ↑Thu Dec 21, 2017 1:29 pmi know a lot of the more diehard pokemon fans i've talked to were mostly lukewarm about gen 7 but i basically haven't played any other pokemon games past gen 2 so i guess i dove into 15 years of series evolution all at once. which is probably why i was more into it than a more seasoned pokefan

What made it the best one? Since nothing has topped gen 2 since it released I am skeptical that Gen 7 has finally done it.Random User wrote: ↑Thu Dec 21, 2017 10:14 pmReally? Re: WoT 363 is ready to celebrate CHRISTMAS
In terms of storywriting, I'd say I was more invested in the characters and events in this game than any of the previous Pokemon games. Characters actually have growth and progression - even the villains. The Island Challenge mixes things up and breaks away from the tired 8 Gyms concept, and the actual game is somewhat challenging as opposed to X/Y and ORAS. HMs are finally nixxed, I felt they held the series back quite a bit up to Gen IV, and by Gen V you can see them trying to design the games around them. Getting rid of them for ride Pokemon makes exploration feel like it isn't penalizing your team.
My major complaints are that there aren't many new Pokemon. Though it helps that USUM have a good selection of more Pokemon, it still feels light in comparison to Gens III, IV, and V. The Pokemon calling for aid is also more frustrating than it is cool, imo. Wild battles become a bit of a chore, but 75% of the time I'm ignoring wild battles anyway.

Re: WoT 363 is ready to celebrate CHRISTMAS
Removing HMs seems alright, but using abilities in the world for various purposes could've been made fun, seems lazy to just remove them. Gyms are a core part of the series though, gotta say that was disappointing to hear. Putting an emphasis on puzzles and actually reaching the gyms would be a better solution.
It's nice to hear they're improving the story elements, last few gens were completely forgettable to me. Beyond gen 3 I just don't even know what's going on. Maybe that'll change.

I was pretty down on SM. Honestly nowadays I view Pokemon as a pretty mediocre JRPG series that I play almost solely to see and catch new monsters.

No you still unlock abilities that do basically the same things, just in the form of Ride Pokemon.I REALLY HATE POKEMON! wrote: ↑Fri Dec 22, 2017 9:42 amRemoving HMs seems alright, but using abilities in the world for various purposes could've been made fun, seems lazy to just remove them. Yeah the stories in Gen IV and VI were awful, just god awful. V was really good imo, but still not quite as polished as VII's story.
