UNIVERSAL EXPANDS
April 23, 2001

Vivendi will double the number of employees in its Universal Interactive Studios game making division to about 50, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Universal was one of the first publishers to sign an exclusivity agreement with Microsoft for the Xbox. A doubling of the workforce should mean good things for Crash and Spyro, along with the company's other properties.

In addition to doing this to prepare for marketing and distribution of currently planned games, the company plans to increase the amount of games it's involved with and will also introduce some new products over the next few years.
