INFOGRAMES SIGNS DEAL
WITH GM
May 18, 2001
Infogrames has signed a worldwide, non-exclusive deal with
General Motors Corporation to feature several classic Chevrolet
and Pontiac cars in the Test Drive series. The cars that will
appear in the games include the Chevy Camaro, Corvette, Chevelle,
and the Pontiac GTO. The cars will be featured in Test Drive
for PlayStation 2 and Xbox, and both games are due out fall
2001.
"We are thrilled to have the awesome lineup of General
Motors cars back in Test Drive," said Laddie Ervin, director
of marketing for sports and racing titles at Infogrames' Los
Angeles label. "Offering cars like the Camaro, Corvette
and the GTO along with our other licensed cars means that
we are once again able to offer players a complete selection
of both the world's finest exotic sports cars and all-American
muscle cars."
The lineup of GM cars that will appear in the newest Test
Drive will accompany a selection of more than 25 licensed
muscle cars and exotic sports cars. The five cars from GM
include the 2001 Corvette Z06 and the 1969 Corvette ZL-1,
the 1970 Chevelle SS 454 LS6, the 1969 Camaro ZL-1, and the
1967 Pontiac GTO.
"Our cars belong in Test Drive," said Gene Reamer,
manager of licensing for General Motors Corporation. "Test
Drive is known for its high quality and great selection of
cars so we see this as a great way for GM to show off its
most beloved cars to racing fans and car enthusiasts."
We will be posting some screens of the Xbox version of Test
Drive later today.
